Bonding with my Baby Brother

As a rule, mama doesn't post ultrasound pics online. She just doesn't think they're that cute in general. I got her permission to post just this one, just this once though, because it goes with my story.

One of my favorite animals/animal noises is the elephant. I throw my arm up in the air like a trunk and give my best elephant call.

As soon as I saw this picture of my baby brother I realized that he knows what an elephant says too! To encourage him, I made 3 or 4 elephant sounds back at him.

At first mama thought I was saying he looked like an elephant, but then she realized I was communicating with him.  I bet this is juuust the beginning of translating my baby brother for my parents.

Grandpa's Littlest Helper

Putting together baby boy Meitl's changing table...

here grandpa, let me help you...

first you've gotta put the screw right here...

maybe you better tighten it

go, grandpa, go!

i think it looks good!

that's a job well done if you ask me :]

taking a break for peek-a-boo with mama

tee hee

ok, now the top ones... i can't reach!

thanks for helping, grandpa

i'll just give it one final inspection

let... me... see... here...

and a short video

15 Months!

I say three words now:  mama, dada, and cacka (cracker).  I make the sounds of a cow, elephant, monkey, and little mouse.  I'm a little worker bee, dragging chairs and stools all over the kitchen and dining room.

I still love to put blankets, rags, and pjs on my head and walk around, peek-a-boo is still a pretty cool game, and kitty and lovey are still my favorite crib toys.

I'm transitioning from 2 naps to 1 and it's driving mama pretty bonkers; she never knows what our schedule is going to look like from one day to the next.

I'm eating significantly better than I was a month ago (yay!) but I've gotten sick in the car two more times (boo).  Once was at noon (ruling out the morning theory) and once was without milk (ruling out the, well... milk theory), so now the only common denominator I'm afraid is... motion.  Sigh.

I'm trying my hardest to win over Sampson, but not having much luck.  Maybe we just don't speak the same love language, because he definitely does not love the attention I give him.

When mommy yells at me I pout and run to give her a hug and then I lean back and put my finger on the tip of her nose.  It's just my thing.

I'm about 20lbs (10th percentile, womp womp) and 30" (50th percentile) but this is just my best guess... the doctor will confirm on Thursday.

Experimenting

Hey... I'm an explorer!  Sometimes it works out better than others.  This is about the time I started making guinea pig noises for mama to come help me.

Titus - A Sign of Things to Come

Just posing for a picture with mommy and Titus... no big deal...

Until mommy tried to explain that we would have one of these "little brothers" at our house in just a few more months...

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Like any respectable toddler, I enjoy eating my cheerios while sitting on my big bunny chair and watching PBS morning cartoons.

Great Family and the Farmer's Market

This morning my great grandparents surprised me with a visit!  They read books to me and let me play with their cell phones.  I even got to call somebody at random and they called back!  Woopsie woo :]

After my nap mommy and I went to the farmer's market for eggie plant and I got to cool off with her strawberry hibiscus "soda."  I felt like a pretty big girl holding mama's drink :]
