Playdate with Daddy's Co-worker

Today we went to daddy's co-workers house for play time and dinner.  I got to play with 7-year-old Alexis and 4-year-old Madeline.  They were big girls and they had fun toys for this little girl to play with.  I bounced on (and tumbled off of) Rody, knocked down at least 20 towers the girls built for me, and had my first taste of dress-up... a tutu and wings!

I'm Big :]

Today I showed what a big girl I am.

First, mommy had a longer-than-expected doctor visit, and I was super cute and patient the whole time.  I even sat quietly while she got an ultrasound to confirm that my baby brother is a good size (and he is!).

Then at home, after I had made a mess of the living room with all of my favorite toys, I brought mama my box of blocks said, "uppa!" (help!) so that she would open it for me.  She said, "you have to put your books away before you can play with your blocks." and without making her say it even one more time, I went over to my bookshelf and started piling in the books.  I put twenty books back on the shelf. I can only pick up one or two at a time so that's a lot of squatting and standing.  I stepped back and took a look around for the last two books before deciding that I was done.  It took me a long time, but I didn't forget about my blocks.  I went back to sit with mama and she gave me a big hug and told me what a great listener and hard worker I was.  She just wanted to keep hugging and kissing me, but I didn't do all of that work for nothing... I wanted my blocks!

17 Months!!

The best news to report is that I haven't gotten car sick in a little over two months.  What?!  That's awesome!

I love to pray with mommy and daddy at the dinner table.  We hold hands and put our heads down and while daddy talks to Jesus.  Sometimes I'm not sure he covered everything so I reach out to hold hands again so he can say a little more.

I am still not a great eater but I am obsessed with blue cheese.  It's my absolute favorite thing to eat, and I often jump and and down at the fridge demanding "cheeeee."

I'm also obsessed with buckles.  I can finally get them buckled, but I can't unbuckle them so I start quickly chirping, "help help help help help," until someone unbuckles them for me.  It sounds a lot like, "uppa uppa uppa uppa uppa," which is also what it sounds like when I say up, apple, and abc.  There's a lot of context involved in figuring out what I'm saying these days.

I have one molar that finally started to come through, and the other three are following right behind.  I'm not sure how long I've been waiting for a new tooth but it's been a while.

I love to chase and be chased.  Sometimes I chase Haven, sometimes I chase the kitties, and sometimes I just run around the house squealing like I'm being chased even when I'm not.

The State Fair

I celebrated my seventeen months with a head cold and the state fair.  Hello fall!

I got to see farm animals...

And there was a produce walk where I got to pick produce, sell it at the farmers market, and spend my the money at the store.

At the PBS tent I got to see Alpha Pig, Wonder Red, and Super Why... my favorites!

I was unsure about the rides at first... but I ended up riding two fun ones.  The jalopy cars and the tea cups (kraft mac and cheese cups).

Trinity Park

Did I mention play group moved to Fridays?  It did.  We've spent the last two Fridays at parks in the area to take advantage of the still-warm fall mornings.

My first solo trip down the slide... I did it!

Playing peek-a-boo with mommy down below.

Hanging out with new friends.

And playing with some of the usual suspects.

Leaning forward to give Haven love.

My favorite place to take a break: miss Lissa's lap.

And the best part is always the swing!
