The Back Deck

Well, this is a very exciting post!  First of all, Jennifer (Jen Jen) let mommy borrow her nice camera so mommy could play with it for a little while before deciding if she should get her own.  Secondly, I got to explore the back deck for the first time since I've been mobile.  Thirdly, I got my first big-girl boo boo.

This is scary territory for a little baby, because it's not exactly splinter free out there.  You can see my modified crawl in an attempt to avoid scuffing up my pretty girl skin.

I found some crunchy brown leaves, one of my favorite things.

Nom nom.

And then the inevitable happened.  My first knee scrape!  It's okay though... it didn't slow me down and I actually feel like a pretty big girl because of it.  

Daddy

I love my daddy sooooo much.  When he leaves for work I race over to the window to watch him go and to let him know I'll see him soon!  When he comes home it always surprises me and I stop what I'm doing and crawl over to him using my fasted crawling technique.  He's just the best!

Jackie-O Glasses

Grannie and mama and me drove all the way to the Carter's outlet just to get these awesome sunglasses we saw online.  Aren't girls silly? :]

Movin on Up!

Got some exercise in today when I learned how to throw my leg around up and over to climb the stairs!  The stairs are way to narrow though, because every time I go to sit back there is nothing to catch my butt except for mama.  It's a good thing she is as quick as I am.  

First Day of Spring

10 Months!!

My hair is starting to curl, I still only have two teeth, and I'm a crawling machine.  I love to pull up on anything and everything, and it often results in bonking my head.  I've started to investigate the stairs, but can only climb a couple of steps and only with assistance.  I love to point at things by holding my hand out, palm side up.  Kind of like an opera singer.  I know what "come here" means, along with, "please don't put that in your mouth," "can you give that to mommy?" and "where's the kitty kitty?"  I only wave at daddy, but I will clap for anyone.  I love sunshine, rompers, and riding around town with the windows down.  I'm really interested in the birds chirping and the bees buzzing around.

Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo

I never understood the need for bibs until recently.  How did I all of a sudden become a terribly messy eater?  Is it because it's just so much more fun that way?  Is it because messy foods are the yummiest foods?  Is it because food on the face is a perfect photo-op?

The spinach all over my face is simply because daddy was feeding me.  He gets an A for effort :]

The yogurt all over my face was because mommy tried to give me a heaping spoonful after I was all done, so instead of eating it I shook my face in it.

Lunch with Daddy

Every now and then mama and I get to meet daddy at work for lunch.  It's the bessssst!

Will the Real Audrey Lu Please Stand Up?

Pulling up is one of my favorite things, ever.  The bars in my crib... ALL around my crib... are ppperfect for grabbing on to so I can stand.  I'm sure mama puts me in the crib in the middle of the day just so I can practice pulling up.

I stand up, she comes in and lays me back down, I stand up again.  It's a really fun part of my day.

I'm getting really long!

Cats and Doggies

If I had a tail, what would it look like?  Would it be long and twitch around like Lola's tail?  Would it be straight up in the air like Sampson's tail?

During one attempt to get ahold of Lola's tail, she hid under a dining room chair.  I crawled over as fast as I could scoot on the slick floor, but my head got stopped by the bottom rung of the chair, and my arm couldn't... quite... reach... that... tail...

I thought for a minute, ducked, and tried to move forward.  Nope.  Couldn't fit under.  I've gotten awfully good at pulling up lately though, so why not go over!

Of course, fleece footy pajamas on a wood floor deserves a short video...

I'm really starting to get used to the cats, especially since I'm finally bigger than they are.  But doggies?  That's a different story.  Jennifer brought Lenny Lu over today (yep, there were two Lus under one roof!) and even though I had a great time with Jennifer...

David and Andrea

Mommy's friend David met us for lunch today.  He lives in Germany with his cute wife Andrea, but they are back in the country for a little while, and since Andrea's parents don't live far from us they were able to swing by for a little visit!  Mommy and David met in 6th grade, making him one of her oldest friends.

I know my eyes are closed in the first picture, but they look so awesome!

Sunday Potluck

Socializing with my baby friends, Sabena and Arne, while mommy and daddy play with the parents.  Tasty firsts from the potluck: curry, chickpeas, and asparagus.  Also on the menu: baby staples like chicken and mac & cheese.

First Signs of Spring on the First Day of March

Upper 70s and sun shiny.  These little tastes of summer days make me really excited for the weather to be like this all the time.  I love bare feet.  I love the sun warming my legs.  I love the breeze on my face.  I love the smell of the trees and the grass.

I love rompers and I love "pic nics" outside.
