My new ride!

Look what I got!  Well, I've actually had it, but last time I tried to ride in it I was so little I just sunk down inside and the edges closed up around me.  Freaked us all out just a bit.  But now I'm bigger and this thing is awesome.  I got a front row seat while mama worked in the kitchen... chopping up fresh smelling cucumber and shiny red cherry tomatoes.  After a while she pulled the sides up around me and I was so cozy I couldn't help but fall asleep in there.

My newest friend!!

This past Sunday I ventured back to the place where it all began for me... Durham Regional Hospital.  Mommy and daddy's friends Mr Lance and Miss Anita were there with their really tiny baby!  You should see how little she is!  Mommy said I was that small once, but I find that hard to believe.  Mommy held me up next to the baby and we were all amazed at how much I've grown in 10 just weeks.  Her name is Sabena Lily.  She has a head full of pretty dark hair and two baby teeth!!  And she's my newest friend.  I'm only a little upset that I'm not the baby in the group anymore.  I guess it's time for me to start setting a good example, sigh.

Here she is!!  I can't wait to teach her how to giggle.

Thankful for Friends

This is my best friend Haven and me.  I know I don't look so sure about that, but she sure does, and since she's older and wiser we'll go ahead and trust her on this one.

My friend Haven is great because she let me stay four nights at her house while the ac was broken at my house.  It was 100 degrees and humid (humidity is when you instantly start sweating in your car seat), so I am very thankful for her kindness.

It was SO much fun, my first vaca!  Haven has all sorts of toys that I'm not old enough to play with (and not coordinated enough to even grab), but that didn't matter... I just loved all there was to see.  And Haven loves me sooo much.  Or does she just love my car seat?  Now that I think about it, she only comes my way when I'm in my car seat... hmm...

The best toy in the house was Mr. Clayton.  He made my legs run, jump, and do karate, and that made me smile really big.

I did notice that Haven goes to bed a bit earlier than I do though... this gives her mommy some alone time in the evening.  I sure hope mama didn't notice this... I don't want her getting any ideas...

A few videos

Here are some of my favorite videos of me.  The first one is me cracking a smile in my sleep.  You have to wait till the end to see it, but you might catch my nose twitch in the middle somewhere:

For the first couple of months I always woke up crying, because I was just soooo hungry, but now I wake up happy.  In fact, the mornings are my favorite time.  Look how happy I am:

I giggled for the first time two days ago and it got mama so excited that she spent the next 15 minutes with her iphone in my face.  All she got was 15 minutes of herself being ridiculous while I stared at her.  The thought of that actually makes me want to giggle, what irony.  I finally gave in and gave her a little taste.  Around 11 or 12 seconds you can hear a tiny giggle behind my big smile.

10 weeks

9 weeks

My first photo shoot: 8 weeks

An introduction: The first 10 weeks

Now that I'm 10 weeks old... and really starting to form an opinion about things, I figured it was time to start sharing my experiences on a blog.  This way my friends and family that are spread throughout the country can share my adventures with me, even if I don't get to see them very often.

Since I waited so long to start this blog (is it really the end of July already?!) I wanted to play a little catch-up and post pictures and videos of the last 2.5 months... especially for all of the Meitl family in Illinois, California, Arizona, and everywhere else.  Can't wait to meet all of you in person!!  You're just going to love me.

Here's me in the verrrrry beginning.  I was SO little.  Just 6lbs and 6oz!

Look how much personality I had, even in the first week!!

By one month I had grown to 8lbs 13oz and my legs were just starting to fill out a bit.  Maybe my cheeks too.

At this point in life my favorite place to be is on my mommy or my daddy.  They are so warm and cozy, can you blame me?

At 5 weeks the humidity finally let up enough for mama and me to sit in the yard and listen to the birds in the trees.  I liked it, but I loved my fist the most.  I'm so determined to find my thumb!

6 weeks, forth of July pic-a-nic in an outfit my grandpa Lenny picked out for me:

At 7 weeks I decided it was time to begin accessorizing.

At 8 weeks mommy's dear friend Melissa took some pictures of me because mama was feeling bad that the only pictures she had taken so far were from her iphone.  I think Melissa made me look so beautiful.  What do you think?  I'll do a separate post with more from this photo shoot.

At 9 weeks mama tried to take a few pics of her own.  She needs a camera that's nicer like Melissa's.  Hey daddy, mama needs a camera that's nicer like Melissa's ;)

At 10 weeks (that's now!) Melissa snapped a couple more of me.  I've really got this smiling thing down at this point.

Ok, that's good enough for the initial "catching up" post.  Enjoy!!
